Timberland 6 inch boots is a trademark for a number of lines of outdoors wear often called Timbs,Timbos or Timmies manufactured by The timberland shoe company.There are three key locations are in Stratham,New Hampshire;Danville,Kentucky;and Ontario,California.All of their products now bear the classic timberland logo,a symbol of rugged quality that appeal not only to outdoor enthusiasts,but now also to those in the hip-hop jet set.

Timberland 6 boots was named one of the best employer in the US in 2007 on the CNN Money.Timberland has a strong corporate social responsibility.Timberland founder Nathan Swartz began his shoe-making career in Boston,Massachusetts,as an apprentice stitcher in 1918.Swartz bought half an interest in The Abington Shoe Company in Boston,mainly doing contract work for other manufacturers in 1952.

Because the boot proved to be very popular,the company name was officially changed to The Timberland Company.In 1978 and 1979,Timberland added casual and boat shoes to its boots product line.In the 1980s,the company expanded internationally–first into the Italian market and later to many other countries.Timberland 6 inch remains a family company to this day,now run by the grandson of the founder.
